Tree to 20m tall; slash unknown. Stipules present. Leaves alternate, simple, oblanceolate-obovate; apex emarginated-mucronate with no acumen; base acute, sometimes cuneate. Secondary venation closely spaced (<10mm) parallel, forming continuous sub-marginal loops; tertiary venation parallel. Abaxial lamina with dense curley red hairs; midrib and petiole with felt like pubescence. Inflorescences in fascicles on main stem and branches. Calyx 5(-6) to 4mm long. Corolla tube to 5-6mm long. Stamens 5(-6) with short filaments, anthers connivent covering ovary. Ovary 5-locular. Fruit 3cm diameter, tomentose, cluster on trunk.
